The idea of having a photoshoot around the corner can be super overwhelming. You want everything to be perfect for the day, and you still need to think about the outfit, hair, makeup and how to pose in front of the camera.

That’s why you should keep reading. I'm going to show you how to get ready for a photoshoot in 2 days or less.

1 - Talk To Your Photographer

Your photographer is probably as excited as you for the date, that’s why it is important to talk to her so you guys will be on the same page. You can also ask her what to wear. She has the experience and probably knows the location very well, so she knows what works or what doesn’t work in front of the camera.

2 - Choose your outfit

I know, I know, that’s the worst part, especially when you need to decide your outfit and the rest of your family’s as well. After getting all the information you need at step one, it is time to go to Pinterest and get some inspiration! Try some keywords like: “family winter outfit photoshoot”; “couple summer outfit photoshoot”, “palette color photoshoot”.

Adapt with what you have in your closet. I’m pretty sure you have something you can use and feel incredible in! . I just want you to feel confident and ready to show the world how beautiful you are.

You also can search instagram with the hashtag of the location to understand the place and what  type of clothes will look best. For example, it can be very difficult to use high heels to go hiking, so make sure you are comfortable and happy with what you choose.

3 - Pack snacks and an extra outfit

This is especially true if you have kids. We know accidents can happen, that’s why being prepared saves you time. Kids can also get “hangry”, so it is good to have some light snacks and water in case they need it. For babies, don’t forget some extra diapers, bottles and anything else you think would be necessary.

4 - Plan the Big Day

It’s important that you clear your schedule for the big day.  Focusing on just  your routine for that morning, like breakfast, a relaxing bath, skincare, light meals (that digest well), hair, make up and getting the kids ready will help you stay calm and avoid too much stress

5 - Search Your Location

You probably helped to choose your photoshoot location, but it is good to know as much as possible about the place. Start checking the distance and add time to consider  traffic. Also, look for a parking lot and the distance you need to walk to reach the location. Is also good to know if you need to pay any entrance fee  to get a photoshoot there. The more you can pay online, the more time you save.

And finally, plan to get there early. This allows you to walk around, relax, and open your mindset for the photos.

6 - Sleep well & drink water

That’s the most important thing on the list. A good night of sleep will improve your mood, decision-making, creativity, concentration, and your productivity for the next day and will prevent body inflammation and tiredness.

A photoshoot, especially in Arizona, can be hard at certain times of the year. That’s why it is always very important to keep yourself hydrated. Don’t forget to drink water.

7 - What to eat before the photoshoot

You don’t want to eat anything that can mess with your stomach. Sometimes the best way to go is with fruits, salad, and light snacks. Here is a list things to avoid:

  • High sodium

  • Fast food

  • Excess fiber

  • Chips & highly processed food

  • Canned goods

8 - About posing for a photoshoot…

That is something that you don’t need to worry about. Your photographer is responsible to guide you the whole time. She will show you what to do and will know the best poses.

I know you are super excited and Pinterest is going to be your best friend again. Try keywords like “couple photoshoot poses”; “family photoshoot poses”; “photoshoot inspirations”; “lifestyle photoshoot ideas”. At my gallery, you also can get some inspiration, click to check it out.

Getting ready for a photoshoot in 2 days or less looks difficult but does not need to be stressful. Your photographer will for sure guide you with any information and steps you need.
